Pianist Harumi Shiraishi, a native of Japan, has graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2009, earning the bachelor’s degree in piano performance with honor. She is currently pursuing the masters degree in piano performance at University of Colorado Boulder.

As a teacher, she has been teaching piano to children and adults for fifteen years in her private studio. Her students have been performing actively in public concerts and festivals such as the Clementi festival (requires audition), Kids for Bach festival (requires audition), Achievement Day (her students earn super-achiever medals), Marvelous Musicale, and other local public recitals.

As a collaborative performer, she has accompanied school choirs, church choirs, and individual instrumental and voice students.

She is an active member of Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), Colorado State Music Teachers Association (CSMTA), Broomfield Music Teachers Association (BMTA), and Boulder Area Music Teachers Association (BAMTA). For CSMTA and BAMTA, she has worked on revising the test materials such as Theory test, terms & Signs test, Ear Training test, and History test.

Also she has chaired festivals and competitions for many years.

Other than piano, singing is one of her other interests. She has sung in auditioned chorus groups and performed at Colorado Music Festival and Boulder Bach Festival. Other than piano and voice, she has also enjoyed playing the trombone for about ten years.
Besides the music degree, she holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management that she earned at the Matsuyama University of Commerce in Japan.
